Privacy Policy for DailyCalAI
Effective date: August 25, 2026
Daily Cal AI ("DailyCalAI," "we," "us," or "our") is an AI calorie tracking app that helps users log meals, estimate calories from food descriptions or meal photos, and review calorie history. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how it may be shared, and the choices available to you.

When you create or access an account, we may collect account information through Firebase Authentication and supported sign-in providers, including:
- Email address
- Display name
- Profile photo URL, if provided by your sign-in provider
- Unique account identifier
- Authentication provider information, such as Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple
- Account creation and update timestamps
If you use Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple, those providers may process your information under their own privacy policies.
Food Log and Nutrition Information
DailyCalAI stores information you enter or generate while using the app, including:
- Food or meal names
- Calorie amounts
- Meal log dates and times
- Daily calorie goal
- Nutrition goal intent, such as losing fat, maintaining weight, or gaining muscle
- Food log source, such as manual entry, quick calorie entry, description-based AI estimate, or photo-based AI estimate
- AI-generated meal estimates, confidence scores, descriptions, and item breakdowns
This information may reveal details about your diet, eating habits, nutrition goals, and wellness routine. DailyCalAI is intended for general calorie tracking and wellness purposes only and is not a medical device.
Meal Photos
If you choose to use photo-based meal estimation, the app may access your camera or photo library so you can capture or select meal photos. Selected meal photos may be:
- Processed by AI services to estimate calories and identify visible foods
- Uploaded to cloud storage under your user account
- Stored with your food log entry as an image URL
You do not have to use photo-based logging. You can log food manually or by description instead.
Meal Descriptions
If you use description-based meal estimation, the meal description you enter is sent to an AI service to generate a calorie estimate and item breakdown.
